I Timothy 3 provides the qualifications for the elders or overseers of each congregation of the Lord’s church. In the absence of qualified men to serve as elders, the men of the congregation have the responsibility of cooperatively guiding the congregation. For expediency, some men are assigned to specific responsibilities such as those listed below.
